GUCCI FALL 2012/RTW

Velvet and I have a love hate relationship-Velvet Renaissance Costumes, NO. Gucci Velvet burnouts, YES PLEASE. This season a darker color pallet and rich textures took over the runway. And my favorite revived trend is the velvet burnout, done well a la Frida Giannini that is. Sheer juxtaposed to velvet creates such a beautiful, romantic feeling to the collection. Very similar to a 20’s archive piece we have in the studio. Trends come and go, but others you just want to go, after this collection I wouldn’t mind if velvet burnout stayed around for a while.
