White on white, nude, and blush tones are always expected color pallets for Spring collections, but the lavish and rich textures that Valentino showed for Spring 2012 couture, was just that. Delicate, decadent, and whimsical embroidery that reminded us of many, full garments and embellishments from the 1930s, and of other archive pieces we have. The juxtaposition of light floaty tulle, and mesh with full, chunky embroidery is a contemporary homage to Marie Antoinette
