VERSATILE VERSACE VERSUS

One of the original houses to make status prints popular- Versace VERSUS launched a capsule collection and all the celebrities dressed in suit. This print on Angel Haze at the performance was no doubt an original very similar to my favorite prints from the Paradox Archive.

WHITE on time….

Watch out brides, white is here and staying strong. The white trend has been super hot for several seasons, and the chic know to wear delicate white embroidery like this Dolce and Gabbana piece on Isla Fisher. Simple shapes with textural interest is the smartest way to ad interest to an otherwise simple silhouette, this vintage embroidery definitely sits well with the look above.

All LINED Up…

Simple, chic, and vibrant. Although many celebrities missed the mark at the Met Gala this year, some guests did “themselves” perfectly. Kenzo is a personal favorite for style maven Solange Knowles, and this look was perfect for her. Everyone knows that the wearability of stripes in any direction is always questioned, but in this optical, bold stripe, her dress is something fun and eye-catching, just like this dynamic print from the Paradox archives.

Placed-LACE

Although lace never goes out of style, its form in fashion is always changing. This pieced gown by Altuzarra was beautiful on Allison Williams at the Met Gala. The placement and cutouts of the dress are interesting and flattering, very similar to this 1930s lace dress from the archive.

more.More.MORE

Sometimes all you need is a photo-real print. Trending for a while now has been the photo real floral print, this look on Kim Kardashian at the Met gala was by far the boldest-wether it was positively bold or not is still yet to be decided. These prints from the Paradox archive have the same look as Kim, and maybe even a bit more understated.

MET GALA TONIGHT!

PUNK x COUTURE

Take a look at this vintage look from Paradox- clashing texture, shape and print- but harmoniously punk.

Triumphant 20s

The 1920s were marked by our triumphs in World War I, and it is only fitting that the looks and colors for celebrations of the time have a victorious and sumptuous feeling as well. This look on Carrie Mulligan in Vogue magazine carries that same macabre and decadent elegance that the crusted beaded dresses from the 20s had. Similar to this beaded midnight blue dress, the romance and mystery of the time is brought out seamlessly.
